Low-beam failure - incorrectly shown message
|
Saab 9-3 MY03-MY08 with Halogen headlights.
The Information Display in the car can in some cases erroneously show
a "low beam bulb failure" message. In most cases the reason is of course that
the bulb has failed, but in a minority of the cases the message is shown erroneously
due to a software bug in the Underhood Electrical Center (UEC). Saab will
introduce a updated software for the UEC later in 2007. It will then be possible
to update the UEC via TECH2.
Information Display shows the message Low Beam, open load. Also DTC
B2575 or B2699 is stored as history in the UEC. Troubleshooting via WIS has
not solved the problem.
Note
|
Be aware that it does not help to change the UEC or the bulb.
|
Recommendation is to inform the customer about the behavior and the
future software update.
