                   | 
                     The following points must be followed when working on xenon headlamps:
                     |  
                   | • | Work on the headlamp assemblies should only be carried out by authorised service workshops. 
 
 |  
                   | • | All work must be carried out according to the instructions provided and with all necessary care. Risk of personal injury if handled improperly. 
 
 |  
                   | • | The ignition must always be in LOCK position when replacing components. 
 
 |  
                   | • | Faulty internal leads in the headlamp assemblies must be replaced in their entirety and not repaired. 
 
 |  
                   | • | Power to the headlamp assembly must be cut off by unplugging the connector before starting work on it. 
 
 |  
                   | • | Under no circumstances may power be supplied to the headlamp assembly if its protective cover is off. 
 
 |  
                   | • | The xenon lamp must not be turned on without being correctly fitted in the headlamp assembly with its protective cover in place. 
 
 |  
                   | • | Always use protective goggles and gloves when handling the xenon lamp as it is highly pressurised. 
 
 |  
                   | • | The xenon lamp contains mercury and must therefore be turned in for destruction.
