Starter motor, replace, Z18XE

To remove


1. Open the bonnet.

2. Disconnect the battery.

Detach the ground cable

3. Raise the car.

4. Unplug the wiring harness connector for the catalytic converter control's oxygen sensor (1)


5. Remove the support for the intake manifold:

- Undo the bolts (arrows)

6. Remove the starter motor wiring:


- Undo the nut (1)

7. Remove the starter motor:

- Undo the bolt


To fit


1. Fit the starter motor:

- Tighten the bolt - Tightening torque 25 Nm

2. Fit the starter motor wiring:

- Tighten the nut

3. Fit the support for the intake manifold:

- on the intake manifold - Tighten the bolt - Tightening torque 20 Nm

- on the engine block - Tighten the bolt - Tightening torque 35 Nm

4. Fasten the wiring harness connector for the catalytic converter control's oxygen sensor.

5. Lower the car.

6. Connect the battery.

7. Carry out Procedure after battery disconnection .

8. Close the bonnet.
