Note: Take into consideration that the gearbox comes from production with an oil level that is always up to 20 mm under the control hole. The gearbox oil level should only be checked and corrected when there is due cause such as after repairs or when external leakage has been observed.

Check the oil level
Unscrew the oil control plug (arrowed) Note: The gearbox must be filled up to the lower edge of the control hole. Correct as necessary. |

Adjust the oil level
Remove the connector from the wiring loom to the reversing light switch (1) Unscrew the reversing light switch (2) Fill with gearbox oil until it flows out of the control hole Note: The amount of oil required for filling after gearbox repairs is approx. 1.6 litres |

Fit the reversing light switch
Replace the sealing ring Tighten the reversing light switch (2) (20 Nm) Replace the wiring loom connector (1) |

Replace the oil level plug
Tighten the oil level plug (arrowed) (4 Nm + 45° - 180°) |
