Rear bump stop, 4WD

To remove


1. Raise the car.

2. Relieve the weight on the lower suspension arm using an pillar jack.

3. Remove the bolt (A) securing the shock absorber to the body and slacken the bolts (B) a few turns.


4. Remove the bolt (A) holding the shock absorber to the steering swivel member and lift away the shock absorber.


5. Remove the bracket (A) with bush and bump stop (B) with protective sleeve from the shock absorber.



To fit


1. Fit the bump stop (B) with protective sleeve and bracket (A) with bush to the shock absorber.

Tightening torque 27 Nm (20 lbf ft)

2. Lift up and fit the shock absorber (A) to the steering swivel member.

Tightening torque 148 Nm +90°(109 lbf ft +90°)


3. Fit the bolt (A) to the shock absorber bracket. Tighten bolts (A) and (B).

Tightening torque 53 Nm (39 lbf ft)


4. Lower the car to the floor.
