Dashboard

Warning

Read through Safety and handling instructions and Before removing a control module before starting work.


To remove


1. Remove Floor console .

2. Remove the Column integration module CIM (703) .

3. Remove the Glove box .

4. Remove the A-pillar trim. See A-pillar trim or A-pillar trim, CV .

5. Remove Sun sensor .

6. Remove Centre dashboard speaker (266) .

7. Remove Left/right dashboard speaker (266) .

8. Remove Panel air vent, passenger .

9. Remove the MIU frame .

10. Remove Main instrument unit (540) .

11. Remove the ACC unit (216) .

12. Remove Cup holder in dashboard .

13. Remove Ashtray .

14. Remove the centre console storage compartment (A).


15. Remove the side covers from the dashboard (A) (right and left side) and unscrew the nuts securing the dashboard (B).


16. Remove the centre nuts (A) of the dashboard.


17. Remove the passenger airbag bolt from the steering column member (A). Release the catches of the connectors by removing the secondary catch. Remove the passenger airbag connector (B).


18. Remove the front scuff plates (A) and the lower side panels on the A-pillars (B).


19. Remove the cover (A) for steering wheel adjustment.


20. Unplug the light control connector (A).


21. Remove the temperature sensors (A) from the panel vents on the driver and passenger sides.


22. Remove Sound installation panel, passenger , Sound installation panel, driver .

23. Thread the CIM connector in through the dashboard so that it does not catch when the dashboard is removed.

24. Locate the front seats in their rearmost position. Move the gear lever to its rearmost position.

25. Carefully remove the dashboard from the car.


To fit


1. Locate the seats in their rearmost position. Move the gear lever to its rearmost position.

2. Lift the dashboard carefully into position. Arrange all cables and connectors so that they are not pinched when the dashboard is mounted.

3. Ensure that the steering wheel adjustment arm is correctly positioned.

4. Plug in the light control connector (A).


5. Thread the speaker cables and connectors up through the speaker openings in the dashboard.

6. Fit the temperature sensors (A) to the panel vents on the driver and passenger sides.


7. Fit the centre nut (A) of the dashboard. Make sure that the locating pins on the dashboard are correctly positioned in the steering column mounting beam.


8. Connect the passenger airbag connectors (B). Make sure the press secondary catches into place on the connector.


9. Fit the bolts attaching the passenger airbag to the steering column mounting beam (A).

Tightening torque 5 Nm (4 lbf ft)

10. Fit the cover for steering wheel adjustment (A).


11. Fit the sound insulation panel, driver and sound insulation panel, passenger .

12. Fit the lower A-pillar side panels (B) and the scuff plates (A).


13. Fit Panel air vent, passenger .

14. Fit Glove box .

15. Fit the ACC unit (216) .

16. Fit Cup holder in dashboard .

17. Fit Main instrument unit (540) .

18. Fit the MIU frame .

19. Fit the nuts (B) securing the dashboard to the steering column member.


20. Fit the dashboard's side covers (A).

21. Fit the dashboard storage compartment (A).


22. Fit Left/right dashboard speaker (266) .

23. Fit Centre dashboard speaker (266) .

24. Fit Sun sensor .

25. Fit the A-pillar trim. See A-pillar trim or A-pillar trim, CV .

26. Fit the Column integration module (CIM) (703) .

27. Fit Floor console .

28. Turn on the ignition and check the airbag system and control module with the diagnostic tool as follows:

Connect the diagnostic tool to the data link connector under the dashboard. Delete any diagnostic trouble codes.

Turn the ignition OFF and then ON again. Wait at least 10 seconds with the ignition on. Check whether a diagnostic trouble code is shown:

If a diagnostic trouble code is shown :

Carry out fault diagnosis according to the instructions under respective trouble codes.

If a diagnostic trouble code is not shown :

Disconnect the diagnostic tool.
