This procedure applies to tooth belts only. When fitting a new drive belt - see Tooth belt tension, setting . Check on a cold engine - room temperature. |
1. |
Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

2. |
Remove the top of the tooth belt cover - see

3. |
Remove the multi-belt - see
Multi-belt, removing and fitting

|
4. |
Remove the right front wheel.
|
5. |
Remove the wing liner on the right-hand side.
|
6. |
Remove the multi-belt tensioning pulley - see
Tensioning device for multi-belt, removing and fitting
.

7. |
Remove the bottom of the tooth belt cover - see
Tooth belt cover bottom part, removing and fitting
.

8. |
Screw in the drive belt pulley bolt into the crankshaft.
|
Checks |
1. |
Turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation to "No. 1 cylinder TDC (III).
|
2. |
The markings on the camshaft sprocket must be in front of each other.
|
3. |
Turn the crankshaft slowly and evenly.
|
5. |
Possibility I: The tooth belt tension is correct if the pointer (4) on the tooth belt tensioning pulley is about 4 mm to the left of the groove (3).
|
6. |
Possibility II: The tooth belt tension is correct if the pointer (6) on the tooth belt tensioning pulley corresponds with "USED" (5).

To fit |
1. |
Remove the retaining bolt from the tooth belt sprocket and remove the blocking tool KM-852.
|
2. |
Fit the bottom of the tooth belt cover - see
Tooth belt cover bottom part, removing and fitting

3. |
Fit the tensioning device for the multi-belt - see
Tensioning device for multi-belt, removing and fitting
.
|
4. |
Fit the right-hand wing liner.
|
5. |
Fit the front right wheel
.
|
6. |
Fit the multi-belts - see
Multi-belt, removing and fitting
.
|
7. |
Fit the top of the tooth belt cover - see
Tooth belt cover top part, removing and fitting
.
|
8. |
Connect the ground cable to the battery.
|
