Important | ||
Be very thorough in terms of cleanliness when working in the fuel system. Malfunctions can also occur due to very small dirt particles. Prevent dirt from entering the fuel system by cleaning the hoses and plugging the pipes and lines upon removal using 93 161 370 Plug set. Store the components so that contaminants cannot enter. |

Remove the protective cover (A).

Detach the connector for the water level sensor (B) (under the filter). Remove the water level sensor (C) by turning it anticlockwise.

3. |
Collect any fuel spill and clean the area around the filter gasket with compressed air.

4. |
Hold the fuel filter adapter housing using
EN-49036 Holding tool
(A) and remove the filter. Use
32 025 056 Fuel filter wrench
(B). Catch any fuel spill.

To fit |
1. |
Moisten the gasket (A) with diesel fuel.
|
2. |
Fit the fuel filter using
32 025 056 Fuel filter wrench
(B). Hold the fuel filter adapter housing using
EN-49036 Holding tool
(A).
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft) |
3. |
Fit the water level sensor (C) and plug in the connector (B).

4. |
Fit the protective cover (A).
|
5. |
Connect an exhaust extractor hose and start the engine to check everything runs correctly.
