To remove |
1. |
Remove the battery cover and disconnect the negative battery cable.

Remove the upper engine cover and the sound insulation.
|

Remove

4. |
Unplug the mass air flow sensor connector (A), and remove the wiring harness (B), the hose (C), the air filter housing cover (D) and the filter. Seal the intake manifold with a clean rag.

Remove the air filter housing.
|
6. |
Remove the wiring harness bracket (A) from the high-pressure pump's protective cover.
|
7. |
Remove the wiring harness bracket (B) from the high-pressure pump's holder.
|
8. |
Disassemble the alternator's electrical connections (C).
|
9. |
Remove the two upper bolts from the alternator (D).
|
10. |
Remove the alternator's lower retaining bolt (A).
|
11. |
Lift the alternator up.

To fit |
1. |
Lift the alternator into place.
|
2. |
Insert the lower bolt (A).
|
3. |
Fit the upper bolts to the alternator (D).
Tightening torque 60 Nm (44.5 lbf ft) |
4. |
Tighten the lower bolt.
Tightening torque 60 Nm (44.5 lbf ft) |
5. |
Connect the ring terminals (C) to the alternator.
Tightening torque M5: 5 Nm (3.7 lbf ft) Tightening torque M8: 10 Nm (7.5 lbf ft) |
6. |
Fit the wiring harness bracket (B) to the high-pressure pump's holder.

7. |
Fit the wiring harness bracket (A) to the high-pressure pump's protective cover.
|
8. |
Fit the air filter housing.
|
9. |
Remove the rag from the turbocharger's intake manifold. Fit the filter, the air filter housing cover (D), the hose (C), the wiring harness (B) and plug in the mass air flow sensor connector (A).

Fit
Drive belt, auxiliary unit
.

11. |
Connect the battery's negative cable and fit the battery cover.
|
12. |
Fit the sound insulation and the upper engine cover.
