Sealing ring, transfer case

To remove


1. Remove the propeller shaft. See Propeller shaft .

2. Drain the fluid from the transfer case. See Transfer case, changing fluid .

3. Dismantle the dust cover (A).


4. Drill a 2 mm hole in the middle of the sealing ring.


5. Fit a 3 mm self-tapping screw in the hole.


6. Dismantle the sealing ring using pliers.



To fit


1. 1. Clean the sealing surfaces.

2. 2. Lubricate and fit the sealing ring, use tool DT-49061 Climbing cone and DT-49097 Fitting drift.

3. 3. Place a little grease on the dust cover's inner diameter.

4. 4. Fit a new dust cover (A), use tool DT-49097 Fitting drift .


5. 5. Fill with fluid. See Transfer case, changing fluid and Oil grades and oil volume .

6. 6. Fit the propeller shaft. See Propeller shaft .
