To remove |
1. |
Remove the relevant front wheel
Undo 5 bolts Note: Mark the positions at the wheel hub |

Remove the track rod end from the wheel spindle
Undo 1 nut Press off the track rod end using 87 91 287 Puller, 150 mm |

Remove the track rod link arm from the wheel spindle
Undo 1 bolt Remove the track rod end from the wheel spindle by pulling down the link arm (arrow) Note: Do not use a tensioning tool to remove the link arm from the wheel spindle. |

Remove the drive shaft from the wheel hub
Fit 89 96 951 Puller, drive shaft on the wheel hub Note: Use 3 wheel bolts Press the drive shaft out of the wheel hub Note: Counterhold on the hexagon using an open ended wrench |

Pull the drive shaft out of the gearbox
Press out from the gearbox with 87 92 376 or tap out the drive shaft using a small sledge hammer and a brass drift.
Remove the drive shaft Note: Oil will run out. Place a receptacle underneath. To fit |

Replace the circlip (1) on the drive shaft
Remove the circlip with a screwdriver Fit a new circlip in the groove on the intermediate shaft |

Fit the drive shaft in the gearbox
Insert 83 95 162 in the gearbox Note: Use KM-6332 so as not to damage the gearbox sealing ring. Press the drive shaft into the gearbox Note: If necessary, drive the drive shaft into the gearbox using a plastic hammer on the joint housing until the circlip engages. |

Fit the dust cover (1) on the wheel hub
Knock in place with a suitable tool |
10. |
Fit the track rod end (2) on the wheel spindle
Tighten 1 new nut (35 Nm) |
11. |
Fit the lower engine cover
Tighten 10 bolts |
12. |
Fit the front wheel

Check gearbox fluid level and top up as necessary
