Uneven running and misfiring.
On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
| Each misfire is registered and evaluated two different ways depending on the type of misfire. |
| • | Harmful to the catalytic converter. |
Enable criteria:
| General conditions for this DTC |
| • | Positive engine torque (negative torque = engine braking). |
| • | Fuel level at least 12%. |
| • | Intake air temperature is above -30°C. |
| • | P0318 must not be detected. |
| • | Total number of combustion signals registered. |
| • | Number of missing combustion signals is accumulated per cylinder. The total number of permissible misfires is specified in a load and speed-dependent matrix. |
Fault criteria:
| • | Combusions affecting emissions detected for cylinder in question. |
| • | Misfires that could damage the catalytic converter detected for the cylinder in question. |
Diagnostic help
Diagnosis regards:
| Fuel/air mixture too rich or too lean, insufficient compression, poor spark plugs causing incomplete combustion. |
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
| • | Airmass Deviation from Calculated |
| • | Fuel balancing Cylinders 1 - 6 |
