Checking oil pressure

/ 9-3 (9440) / 2010 / 2. Engine / 4-cylinder diesel / Basic engine / Adjustment/replacement / Checking oil pressure

1.	Raise the car.

2.	Remove the lower engine cover.

3.	Place a receptacle under the oil pressure switch.

4.	Remove the oil pressure switch connector.

5.	Remove the oil pressure switch.

6.	Fit 87 92 301 Adapter, oil pressure and 87 91 600 Pressure measuring equipment .

7.	Lower the car.

8.	Connect and exhaust hose and start the engine. Note Do not leave the engine running for longer than it takes to check the specified oil pressures.

9.	Measure the oil pressure:

•

Idling speed >1 bar

•

Warm engine >4 bar at 4000 rpm.

10.	Switch off the engine.

11.	Raise the car.

12.	Remove 87 92 301 Adapter, oil pressure and 87 91 600 Pressure measuring equipment .

13.	Fit the oil pressure switch with new gasket.

14.	Plug in the connector.

15.	Fit the lower engine cover.

16.	Lower the car.

17.	Check engine oil level, top up as necessary to the prescribed level.
