Exhaust system

The exhaust system is designed to discharge the engine exhaust gases with a low flow resistance, low noise level and long life. The exhaust system is supported from seven rubber mountings.

The exhaust system comprises four parts; a front catalytic converter, intermediate pipe with flexible section, particle trap and a rear part with silencer. The silencer is the absorption silencer type.

The front catalytic converter is connected to the turbine outlet with a v-strap. Between the front catalytic converter and the particle trap is the intermediate pipe with flexible section. It has a flange joint. After the particle trap comes the rear system as one unit. The rear system is connected to the particle trap with a joint sleeve.

Heat shields

Heat shields are mounted above the hottest zones of the exhaust system to protect exposed sites where heat radiation could otherwise cause a problem.
