Fuel hoses Z19 DTH

Warning

The work involved in removing the fuel pipe requires working with the vehicle's fuel system. The following points should therefore be heeded in conjunction with these measures:

• Have a class BE fire extinguisher on hand! Be aware of the risk of sparks, i.e. in connection with electric circuits, short-circuiting, etc.

• Absolutely No Smoking!

• Ensure good ventilation! If there is approved ventilation for evacuating fuel fumes then this must be used.

• Wear protective gloves! Prolonged exposure of the hands to fuel can cause irritation to the skin.

• Wear protective goggles.


Important

Maintain a very high level of cleanliness when working with the fuel system. Even very small particles can cause malfunctioning of the system. Store all components in such a way that they cannot be contaminated.


To remove


1. Open the bonnet.

2. Remove the engine cover and insulation.

3. Remove the fuel hoses.

Open and move the clip (A) backwards on the fuel pipe and remove the hose.


Remove the quick coupling (B) for the fuel pipe using the tool 83 95 261 Fuel line tool .

Note

Special tool 83 95 261 must be ground down by 2 mm so that it can be used on position D.


Remove the clip (C) on the fuel pump and remove the hose.

Remove the quick coupling (D) for the return hose and the fuel collector. Use the tool 83 95 261 to lift out the hose.


To fit


1. Fit the fuel hoses.

Fit the hose and the hose clip (C) to the fuel pump.


Fit the quick coupling (D) to return, fuel collector.

Fit the hose to the fuel pipe and fit the hose clip (A).

Fit the quick coupling (B) to the fuel pipe.

2. Fit the engine cover and insulation.

3. Close the bonnet.
