Locator light (Halo light), detailed description
If the panic button on the remote control is held depressed for a short time (< 2 seconds), the following lamps light:
•
Side marker lights (US/CA)
•
Side direction indicators
When the panic button is depressed for a short time, the remote control sends a signal. This signal is received by CIM, which sends the bus message "Remove control panic button active ON", which is used by BCM. BCM sends the bus message "Lead Me To Car Light request ON" if battery voltage exceeds 11 V. This message is used by UEC and REC. BCM also activates interior lighting. The bus message "Lead Me To Car Light request ON" is received by UEC, which activates the outputs for the front parking lights and side direction indicators, and by REC, which activates the outputs for the rear parking lights and the number plate lighting.
The outputs are active for 30 seconds or until the function is deactivated by opening/closing a door or by briefly pressing the remote control panic button again.
This function can only be activated if the key is not in the ignition switch.
