Oil pressure, check, B207

Check

Important

When checking at full load the handbrake must be applied and the brake pedal depressed. Due to the risk of overheating, checking at full load must not take longer than 5 seconds. Add a pause for cooling down. The oil level in the gearbox must be correct.



1. Raise the car.

2. Remove the upper plug (A). The front torque rod has been removed in the illustration for a better view of the connections.

Warning

The radiator fan may start without warning. Keep your fingers away to avoid injury.



3. Fit 87 92 301 Adapter, oil pressure kit (A).


4. Fit 87 91 600 Pressure measuring equipment (B) on connection (A).

5. Lower the car to the floor.

6. Connect TECH 2 and check the oil temperature.

Important

The oil temperature must be between 50 degrees C and 80 degrees C.


7. Check the oil pressure in selector lever position "D".

Start the engine.

Move the selector lever to position "D".

Check the oil pressure at idling speed and at full load - air conditioning and lighting disengaged.

- Desired value idling speed (foot brake not applied): 3.7 - 4.1 bar.

- Desired value full load: 13.5 - 14.6 bar.

Switch off the engine after the check.

8. Raise the car.

9. Remove the oil pressure gauge (B).


10. Remove the connection (A).

11. Fit the upper plug (A) with a new sealing ring

Tighten the plug 10 Nm.


12. Remove the lower plug (B).


13. Fit 87 92 301 Adapter, oil pressure kit (A).


14. Fit 87 91 600 Pressure measuring equipment (B) on connection (A).

15. Lower the car to the floor.

16. Connect TECH 2 and check the oil temperature.

Important

The oil temperature must be between 50 degrees C and 80 degrees C.


17. Check the oil pressure in selector lever position "R".

Start the engine.

Move the selector lever to position "R".

Check the oil pressure at idling speed and at full load - air conditioning and lighting disengaged.

- Desired value idling speed: 5.7 - 6.6 bar.

- Desired value full load: 19.0 - 21.3 bar.

Switch off the engine after the check.

18. Raise the car.

19. Remove the oil pressure gauge (B).


20. Remove the connection (A).

21. Fit the lower plug (B) with a new sealing ring

Tighten the plug 10 Nm.


22. Lower the car to the floor.

23. Remove TECH 2.
