Nose from the selector lever cable
|
A bothersome nose from the selector lever cable in the engine compartment can be heard in the passenger compartment. The noise often occurs when the selector lever is in D, especially when the engine is cold and the vibration level is high. The fault is due to the selector lever cable coming into contact with an engine wiring harness. The noise is then transferred to the passenger compartment via the selector lever cable.
Cars wit engine alternative Z19 and automatic transmission within VIN interval 51031322 - 51043370. Cars within this interval need a clamp to hold the selector lever cable and expansion hose.
Fit 73 98 415 cable clamp on the cable and hose near the expansion hose radius below the expansion tank.
