Replacing wires for lowering the passenger seat backrest

To remove


1. Lower the backrest.

2. Remove the catch. Use a screwdriver to release the hook.


3. Remove the grommet for the lowering mechanism.

4. Release the upholstery strip along the edges of the back of the backrest frame.


5. Fold up the rear side of the backrest.

6. Release the lower mechanism's spring on each side.


7. Remove the wire on both sides.

8. Remove the spring for the wire.


9. Remove the wire from its upper mounting.

Important

Be careful not to damage the upholstery when removing the plastic sleeve.


10. Remove the plastic sleeve of the grommet.


11. Remove the wire from the arm.


12. Remove the cable tie.


13. Lift away the wire.


To fit


1. Fit a new wire by threading it onto the opening arm.

2. Place the wire in the groove on the opening arm.


3. Fit the wire in its mounting.

4. Fit the spring.


5. Hook the wire in the lower opening mechanisms on each side of the seat and fit the springs.


6. Fit the grommet sleeve.


7. Fit the grommet.

8. Fit the catch.


9. Fit the cable tie.


10. Fit the trim.
