Engine speed has been too High.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:

Continuous

Enable criteria:

Engine running.

Fault criteria:

Engine speed has exceeded 5400 rpm for more than 0.1 second.

Fault handling:

The engine has been forced to over-rev. This may have occurred during wide open throttle acceleration 1-2-3-2 or shifting 4-1.
Inform the customer that over-revving can cause mechanical damage to the engine.
