Remove the lower heat shield (A).
|

Detach the exhaust temperature sensor (B).
|
5.
|
Remove the exhaust pipe's nuts (C).
|
6.
|
Slacken the clamp's nut (D).
|
7.
|
Suspend the exhaust pipe with
83 95 212 Strap
(A) and undo its two mountings (B).
|
8.
|
Hold the clamp open with circlip pliers or the like and lower the catalytic converter.

Clean the sealing surfaces.
|
2.
|
Position the catalytic converter and fit it using a new gasket. Hold the clamp open slightly with circlip pliers. Turn the clamp so that the nut points up. Tighten the clamp's nut so that the catalytic converter can still be turned.

Fit the nuts and bolts of the front and rear mounting (B).
|
5.
|
Tighten the nuts and bolts of the front and rear mounting (B).
Tightening torque 19 Nm (14 lbf ft)
|
6.
|
Tighten the clamp's nut (D).
Tightening torque 20 Nm
|
8.
|
Tighten the exhaust pipe's nut (C).
Tightening torque 22 Nm (16 lbf ft)

9.
|
Fit the exhaust temperature sensor (B).
|
10.
|
Fit the lower heat shield (A).
|

|
If a new catalytic converter is fitted
: Connect the diagnostic tool to reset adaptation values. Select Menu - Engine - Engine management system - Adjustment -
Pre Catalyst Replaced.

|
Connect an exhaust hose and start the engine. Check the exhaust system for leaks.
