Exhaust system

The exhaust system is designed to discharge the engine exhaust gases with a low flow resistance, low noise level and long life. The exhaust system is supported from seven rubber mountings.

The exhaust system consists of four sections; a front catalytic converter, intermediate pipe with flexible section, particle trap and a rear section with silencer. The silencer is the absorption silencer type. Cars with the 180 hp engine variant have two rear silencers, one on each side.

The front catalytic converter is connected to the turbine outlet with a v-strap. Between the front catalytic converter and the particle trap is the intermediate pipe with flexible section. It has a flange joint. After the particle trap comes the rear system as one unit. The rear system is connected to the particle trap with a joint sleeve.

Heat shields

Heat shields are mounted above the hottest zones of the exhaust system to protect exposed sites where heat radiation could otherwise cause a problem.
