To remove |
1. |
Raise the car.
|
2. |
Remove the wheel.
|
3. |
Remove the bolts (A) for the bushings and fold down the anti-roll bar (B).
|
4. |
Remove the retaining spring (A) from the brake caliper.
|
5. |
Remove the protective covers (B) and the guide pins (C).
|
6. |
Hang up the brake caliper (A) using a cable tie.
|
7. |
Remove the outer and inner brake pads.
|
8. |
Clean the inside of the brake caliper and check the dust covers.
|
To fit |
1. |
Screw in the brake piston (A) if necessary with
89 96 969 Resetting tool
(B) and
89 96 977 Adapter
(C).

2. |
Lubricate the pad sliding and contact surfaces with
Special paste
.
|
3. |
Fit the brake pads to the holder and cut off the cable tie.
|
4. |
Fit the brake caliper with the guide pins (C) and the protective covers (B).
Tightening torque 28 Nm (21 lbf ft) |
5. |
Fit the retaining spring (A) to the brake caliper.
|
6. |
Fold up the anti-roll bar (B) and fit the bolts for the bushings (A).
Tightening torque 30 Nm (23 lbf ft) |
7. |
Fit
the wheel
.

8. |
Lower the car.
|
9. |
Depress the brake pedal repeatedly in order to press out the brake piston and the handbrake self adjustment.
|
10. |
Check the brake fluid level and top up as necessary.
|
11. |
Check the operation of the foot brake and handbrake.
