Return line for power steering, B207 RHD, 4WD

Important

Scrupulous cleanliness must always be observed during all work with hydraulic components.


To remove


1. Remove the air filter cover with hose (A) and unplug the connectors (B).


2. Place a suitable receptacle under the steering gear.

3. Detach the return line (A) from the steering gear.


4. Remove the line from the clip (A).


5. Remove the line from the bracket (B) on top of the steering gear.

6. Remove the line (A) from the reservoir.


7. Lift up the line.


To fit


1. Fit the line in place.

2. Fit the line (A) and the hose clip to the power steering fluid reservoir.


3. Fit the line in the clip (A).


4. Fit the line to the bracket (B) on top of the steering gear.

5. Raise the car.

6. Route the line under the rear torque rod and above the propeller shaft.

7. Lower the car to the floor.

8. Attach the return line (A) to the steering gear. Make sure the O-ring is correctly seated.

Important

Make sure that the return line is fitted in the upper of the two connections.

The steering gear will be destroyed if the lines are mixed up!


Tightening torque 28 Nm (21 lbf ft)


9. Fit the air filter cover with hose (A) and plug in the connectors (B).


10. Fill with fluid and bleed the power steering system . Check for leaks.
