To remove |
1. |
Raise the car.
|
2. |
Remove the wheel.
|
3. |
Remove the retaining spring (A) from the brake caliper.
|
4. |
Remove the bush bolts (A) and move aside the anti-roll bar (B).
|
5. |
Remove and hang the hydraulic body and brake caliper holder to the side as a unit (A).
|
6. |
Remove the brake pads.
|
7. |
Remove the brake disc lock bolt (A). Lift off the brake disc.
|
8. |
Unplug the wheel sensor connector (B).
|
9. |
Remove the drive shaft nut.
|
10. |
Press in the drive shaft so to release it from the hub. Use
89 96 951 Drive shaft puller
.

11. |
Remove the hub (A).
|
To fit |
1. |
Clean the contact surfaces. Fit the hub (A) and the brake shield with new nuts.
Tightening torque 50 Nm +30° (40 lbf ft +30°) |
2. |
Fit the drive shaft nut (A).
|
3. |
Plug in the wheel sensor connector (B).
|
4. |
Clean the contact surfaces between the hub and the brake disc.
|
5. |
Fit the brake disc and the lock bolt (A).
Tightening torque 7 Nm (5 lbf ft) |
6. |
Clean the contact surfaces between the brake caliper holder and the steering swivel member.

7. |
Fit the brake pads (A).
|
8. |
Fit the hydraulic body and brake caliper holder using
Thread locking adhesive, Loctite 242
.
Tightening torque 130 Nm +45° (96 lbf ft +45°) |
9. |
Bend up the anti-roll bar (B) and fit the bush bolts (A).
Tightening torque 30 Nm (23 lbf ft) |
10. |
Fit the retaining spring (A) to the brake caliper.
|
11. |
Remove the centre emblem.
|
12. |
Fit the wheel
.
|
13. |
Lower the car to the floor.
|
14. |
Tighten the hub nut.
Tightening torque 230 Nm (170 lbf ft) |
