Removing

This method concerns the right-hand side but the left-hand side can be done in a corresponding manner.


1. Remove the Rear bumper abutment, CV .

2. Cut the floor as indicated by the marks. Cut on the inside the member. The cut must be made so that the replacement piece overlaps by approximately 20 mm.


3. Drill out the spot-welds.

4. Tap out the rear floor and align any damaged sheet metal or panels.


Fitting


1. Cut the replacement piece as illustrated. The cut must be made so that the replacement piece overlaps by approximately 20 mm.


2. Drill for plug welding of the replacement piece.

3. Grind all the surfaces that are to be welded.

4. Apply welding primer to the surfaces to be plug or spot welded.

5. Position and align the floor.

6. Weld the floor in place.


7. Smooth off the welds.

8. Remove any remaining welding primer. Welding primer reduces adhesion of paint, filler and sealant.

9. Apply primer to all bare metal surfaces.

10. Fit the Rear bumper abutment, CV .

11. Seal joints and seams with sealant.

12. Apply PVC substitute on the underside of the floor.

13. Apply a thin anti-corrosion agent to the members and cavities after painting.
