EVAP. Serious Leakage in System.

Fault symptom
Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)
Possible smell of petrol.
On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
Battery voltage should be between 10.7 and 18 Volts. |
Coolant temperature upon start between 3.8 °C and 35.3 °C. |
Ambient temperature is between -9.8 °C and 45 °C. |
Ambient temperature max. 10 degrees Celsius higher than coolant temperature upon start. |
The atmospheric pressure change over 200 s must be no greater than 25 kPa. |
Tank pressure upon start is between -1800 Pa and 1000 Pa. |
The fuel level is between 15% and 85%. |
Vehicle speed below 3 km/h. |
Engine running for more than 1000 s or 300 s if fuel adaptation has been performed. |
Purge valve active for 25 s and then shut off for 20 s. |
The pressure quotient between boost pressure and atmospheric pressure is lower than 0.6. |
NONE of the following DTCs must be detected: |
• | P0130, P0131, P0132, P0133, P0135 |
• | P0137, P0138, P0140, P0141 |
• | P2122, P2123, P2127, P2128, P2138 |
• | P2187, P2188, P2191, P2192, P2195, P2196 |
• | P2237, P2238, P2239, P2243, P2251, P2281 |
• | The diagnosis is performed by closing the shut-off valve and opening the evap canister purge valve while the tank pressure is being registered. The pressure should then drop. |
• | Bleeder valve closed; pressure increase in Pa/s calculated. Pressure must not rise too much. |
Fault criteria:
The pressure does not fall by 525 Pa or the time required to reach the required pressure change is too long. |
Diagnostic help
Diagnosis regards:
Blockage in suction line to evap canister purge valve or a detached hose can cause this DTC. |
An improperly screwed fuel cap is often the reason this diagnostic trouble code is generated. Before beginning fault diagnosis, check that the tank cap is properly fitted. |
