start the fault diagnostic procedure.
Symptom: Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)
Secondary Air Injection System. Incorrect Airflow.

Fault symptom
Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)
On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V. |
Atmospheric pressure below 725 kPa (105 PSI). |
Coolant temperature higher than -6°C (21°F). |
Engine load between 120 - 400 mg/c. |
Engine speed between 700 - 2500 rpm. |
Secondary air injection pump is active. |
No DTC detected for oxygen sensors 1 and 2. |
No DTC detected for the mass air flow sensor. |
Fault criteria:
Closed loop insufficiently actuated or not at all. |
Dependent:
System reaction to a fault:
OK report:
Diagnostics carried out without fault reported. |
Fault handling:
(See section Fault handling III, "Other emission-related components and functions" for more information.) |
Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
