Injector valves (206a-d), E39

Injector valves (206a-d), E39

Location

The injectors are fitted in the engine bay, in the cylinder head under the intake ports.

Injector, cyl 1 (206a), E39

Injector, cyl 2 (206b), E39

Injector, cyl 3 (206c), E39

Injector, cyl 4 (206d), E39

Main task

The task of the injectors is to inject fuel directly into the combustion chambers.

Type

High-pressure, direct injection, returnless multiport fuel injection system with injectors placed inside the combustion chambers.

The injectors, all identical, consist of internally opening, electric solenoid valves with six holes that generate the desired spray pattern.

ECM, control module, E39 (590) controls each injector with 65 V, which opens the injector, and then holds it open with 12 V.

Connection

Injector 1, 206a pin no Signal type Description
1 Ground Connected to ECM, pin 52(C).
2 Supply voltage Connected to ECM, pin 72(C).

Injector 2, 206b pin no Signal type Description
1 Ground Connected to ECM, pin 46(C)
2 Supply voltage Connected to ECM, pin 66(C).

Injector 3, 206c pin no Signal type Description
1 Ground Connected to ECM, pin 48(C).
2 Supply voltage Connected to ECM, pin 68(C).

Injector 4, 206d pin no Signal type Description
1 Ground Connected to ECM, pin 50(C).
2 Supply voltage Connected to ECM, pin 70(C).

The injectors receive their supply voltage and grounding from ECM via connector H12-12.
