VEHICLES CONCERNED |
Saab 9-5 DTH MY 06 – (up to Engine No: 495535).

BACKGROUND |
Due to variations in fuel quality and driving pattern, abnormal carbon deposits can build up on the valve shaft and during the regeneration phase the increased temperature of these carbon deposits prevent the valve from closing correctly.
SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION |
Customer reports of lack of engine power with jerking and/or vibrations during DPF regeneration phase which nominally occurs every 400-1000 miles depending on driving pattern.
ACTION |
A new design of the exhaust valve with a carbon scraper ring has been introduced.
