The task of the alternator is to supply power to the car's consumers when the engine is running and to keep the battery charged.

B+	Charging current	To the battery's (1) positive terminal
1, L	Diagnostics/start pulse	Data link and starting pulse from engine control module. Connected to ECM, control module, E39 (590) pin 53(B).
2, F	Information on load	Connected to ECM, control module, E39 (590) pin 55(B).
