Located on LH side of engine, above gearbox.

Main task

Identifies and sends information on the position of the camshaft in relation to the crankshaft to ECM (590), E39.

Hall sensor.

Connection

555i Intake, pin no.	Signal type	Description
A	Power supply, 5 V	Connected to ECM, pin 34(C).
B	Ground	Connected to ECM, pin 53(C).
C	Signal	Connected to ECM, pin 33(C).

555e Exhaust, Pin no.	Signal type	Description
A	Power supply, 5 V	Connected to ECM, pin 54(C).
B	Ground	Connected to ECM, pin 55(C).
C	Signal	Connected to ECM, pin 35(C).
