To remove |
1. |
Raise the car.
|
2. |
Remove the wheel.
|
3. |
Remove the bolts for the bushings (A), and fold down the anti-roll bar (B).
|
4. |
Remove the retaining spring (A) from the brake caliper.
|
5. |
Remove the protective covers (B) and the guide pins (C).
|
6. |
Hang up the brake caliper (A) using a cable tie
|
7. |
Remove the outer and inner brake pads.
|
8. |
Remove the holder from the steering swivel member (A).
|
To fit |
1. |
Clean the contact surfaces between the steering swivel member and the brake caliper carrier.
|
2. |
Fit the brake caliper holder to the steering swivel member (A). Apply
74 96 268 Thread locking adhesive
to the bolts.
Tightening torque 130 Nm +45° (96 lbf ft +45°) |
3. |
If necessary:
Screw in the brake piston (A) with
89 96 969 Resetting tool (B)
and
89 96 977 Adapter (C)
.

4. |
Lubricate the pad sliding and contact surfaces with
Special paste
.
|
5. |
Fit the brake pads to the holder and cut off the cable tie.
|
6. |
Fit the brake caliper with the guide pins (C) and the protective covers (B).
Tightening torque 28 Nm (21 lbf ft) |
7. |
Fit the retaining spring (A) to the brake caliper.
|
8. |
Fit the wheel
.
|
9. |
Lower the car.
|
10. |
Depress the brake pedal repeatedly in order to press out the brake piston and the handbrake self adjustment.
|
11. |
Check the operation of the foot brake and handbrake.
