Scrupulous cleanliness must always be observed during all work with hydraulic components.

Always use wing covers when working in the engine bay.

|
Lift off the battery cover and disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
|

|
Place a receptacle under the car.
|
7.
|
Remove the connector for the power steering unit (A).
|
8.
|
Remove the delivery pipe from the power steering pump (B).
|
9.
|
Remove the return hose from the power steering fluid reservoir (C).
|
10.
|
Empty the power steering fluid reservoir using suitable oil draining equipment.
|
11.
|
Remove the nuts from the rubber pads (D).
|
12.
|
Lower the power steering unit from the bracket.
|
13.
|
Wipe away any spilled power steering fluid.
|

|
Place the power steering unit in its bracket and install the nuts.
Tightening torque 7 Nm (5 lbf ft)
|
2.
|
Fit the return hose to the power steering fluid reservoir with a new hose clip (C).
|
3.
|
Fit a new sealing ring and connect and tighten the delivery pipe to the hydraulic unit.

4.
|
Plug in the connector to the power steering unit (A).
|
5.
|
Connect the battery and fit the battery cover.
|
6.
|
Fill with power steering fluid and bleed the system, see
Hydraulic system EHPS, filling and bleeding
Important
|
The EHPS system must not be run dry. Do not reuse drained fluid. Fill the hydraulic system with special fluid.

|
Check for leaks in the delivery and return lines.
