Main task |
The main function of the passenger airbag is to protect the passenger in the event of a head-on collision.
Type |
The airbag is a two-stage type. This means it is activated in two stages at different pressures, depending on the force of impact and on the US/CA market also the position of the seat. The passenger airbag comprises a plastic housing, two electric detonators with different codes and two pyrotechnical charges of different sizes for stages 1 and 2, plus a filter.
Connect |
B+ will receive current from control module pin 14 when activated for the driver airbag stage 1 charge. Grounding occurs via pin 13 on the control module.


From the control module, pin 7 receives voltage during B+ activation for driver airbag stage 2 charge. Grounding occurs via pin 6 on the control module.
