Malfunction Indicator Lamp

On-board diagnosis

Enable criteria:

Test 1

•	Starter motor cranking.

•	Following diagnostics must NOT have reported a fault:

•	P0101, P0102, P0103

•	Air mass more than 3 g/s.

Test 2

•	Engine running.

•	The following diagnostic trouble codes may not be generated:

•

P0641

Fault criteria:

Test 1

•	More than 5.5 s since the last signal from camshaft position sensor.

Or

•	Start of engine for more than 4 s with no signal from the camshaft position sensor.

Test 2

•	Less than 4 signals from the camshaft position sensor within 3 s.

Checking the wiring harness

Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
