CHECK ENGINE lamp on.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:

Once per driving cycle.

Enable criteria:

The following diagnostic trouble codes may not be generated:

Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
Fuel level over 10%.
Engine speed between 1200 and 2200 rpm.
Engine running longer than 60 s.
Engine speed between 1000 and 3500 rpm.
Preheating active for more than 180 s.
Closed loop lambda control active.
Air mass 5 - 10 g/s.
Vehicle speed between 65-119 Km/h.
EVAP, leak diagnosis inactive (if OBD II).
Calculated catalytic converter temperature between 500-900°C.

Fault criteria:

When the voltage across the sensor has not exceed 875 mV.

OK report:

Fault criteria NOT fulfilled.

Fault handling:

Type III

Checking the wiring harness

Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
