Assemble piston and connecting rod by tapping the gudgeon pin in with a plastic mallet and drift. Make sure that the marking on the piston points to the timing end of the engine and that the protuberance on the connecting rod points to the flywheel end.

Fit the gudgeon pin circlip.

3. |
Place the bearing shells in place in the connecting rods.

4. |
Oil the piston rings, bearings and cylinders.
|
5. |
Fit the pistons using fitting ring 83 95 113.

6. |
Fit the bearing cap with bearing shell.
Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 Ibf ft) + 45° + 15°
|
7. |
Check that there are no impurities in the sump and clean the mating surfaces. Use benzine.

8. |
Seal all partition joints with part No. (10) 81 52 381.
|
10. |
Tighten the drain plug.
Tightening torque: 25 Nm (18.5 lbf ft) |
11. |
Lower the car.
