Fluid level checks, leaks and topping up

Oil level, engine


Check the level while the engine is still warm, 2-5 minutes after switching off the engine.

Top up with oil to the MAX mark on the dipstick. The distance between the MAX and MIN marks corresponds to 1 litre (1.05 qts).

Fluid level, automatic transmission


Apply the handbrake. Start the engine and run it at idling speed. Select D and wait at least 15 seconds. Then select R and wait another 15 seconds. Repeat in position P.

Check the fluid level (engine running at idling speed and selector lever in P). Top up as necessary.

Important

The dipstick has two sets of level marks. The amount of fluid between the maximum and minimum marks is about 0.4 litres (0.4 qts).
