| Checking the fuel pressure regulator, V6 |

| 1. | Remove the engine cover. | |
| 3. | Start the fuel pump using the diagnostics tool.   | |
| 4. | Take a pressure reading on the gauge. The value should be 3.0 bar (43 psi). | |
| 5. | Detach the pressure regulator vacuum hose. Connect the vacuum pump, part no. 30 14 883, to the connector on the pressure regulator.   | |
| 6. | Pump carefully up a positive pressure. Check that the fuel pressure increases correspondingly. | |
| 7. | Release the positive pressure and pump up a negative pressure instead (vacuum). Check that the fuel pressure reduces correspondingly. | |
| 8. | Release the negative pressure and remove the vacuum pump. Connect the pressure regulator vacuum hose. | |
| 9. | Switch off the fuel pump using the diagnostics tool. | |
| 10. | Put on the "safety catch" on the adapter and remove the pressure gauge equipment from the service nipple. Screw on the valve cap. | |
| 11. | Refit the engine cover. | |
