Symptom: CHECK ENGINE comes on after two driving cycles.
Possible smell of petrol.
EVAP Purge Valve Circuit. Short to B+.

Conditions
The following conditions apply for this DTC:
|
•
|
Engine running and main relay voltage exceeds 10 V.
|
|
•
|
Output voltage exceeds 2 V when output active.
|
|
•
|
Conditions met within 10 periods that must occur within 60 seconds (it normally takes 1 second for the DTC to be generated when purging is active).
|
Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns electrical faults in connecting cables or in the valve.

Check the wiring

Note

|
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at various points and in different directions to detect any intermittent breaks or short circuits in the wiring. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
