Background

Parts required

95 28 019 Cable tie (1 pc./car)

Tools

84 71 161 Removal tool, radio (1 pc./dealer)

Procedure

Before taking any measures, look at box A2 on the modification identity plate. If the box is not marked, continue below.

1.
Note

Protect the ACC panel and centre console with a piece of cloth to prevent them from being damaged or scratched.

2. Extract the radio. Use special tool 84 71 161.

3. Extract the radio compartment.

4. Unplug the connector on the radio compartment.

5. Check for and repair any damage to the wiring harness.

6. Carefully cut the cable tie securing the wiring harness to the dashboard, taking care not to damage the wiring. Remove the cable tie.

7. Take a new cable tie and turn its foot as shown in the illustration. Fasten the new cable tie loosely on the wiring harness.

8. Fit the foot of the cable tie into the hole located in front of the one that was previously used. Tighten the cable tie.

9. Plug in the connector to the radio compartment.

10. Insert the radio compartment.

11. Insert the radio and check its function.

Marking the modification identity plate

After completing the procedure, the A2 box on the modification identity plate must be marked. If the procedure has been performed by the importer, mark the box with the number ”7” and if it was performed by the dealer, mark it with the number ”8”.
