For optimum alignment, the tolerance band for the light/dark boundary can be used.
Align both headlamps in the same way.
Check the spread of the main beam if there are problems with headlamp adjustment. Also check the bulb fittings.
Vertical adjustment |
Switch on the headlamps (dipped) and check that the headlamp is correctly aligned vertically. Adjust the height of the beam to the left-hand (LHD cars) or right-hand (RHD cars) horizontal line.
Adjust vertically only to that part of the light/dark boundary that is 0-30 mm to the left (LHD) alternatively the right (RHD) of the centre line.
Align both headlamps in the same way.
Check the spread of the main beam if there are problems with headlamp adjustment.
Check the following points before carrying out adjustment.

Check that the tyre pressures are correct.

Check that the car is weighted with a normal load.

Check that the bulbs are correctly fitted.
Position the car at right angles to the headlamp aligning equipment. |

Switch on the ignition and put the height-adjuster in 0 position.

Manual adjustment is performed from above with the adjusting screw on the back of the headlamp.

Electrical
Important | ||
The height-adjuster must be in 0 position while adjustment is being performed. The ignition must have been turned on once. |

Vertical adjustment is performed with the adjusting knob on the actuator motor, which adopts the new setting as the starting point for the headlamp beam adjustment.
