Floor lighting

Floor lighting

The floor lighting under the dashboard goes on when one or more doors are opened and the ignition switch is OFF (key removed). The floor lighting stays on as long as one or more doors are kept open. After 20 minutes the floor lighting is automatically turned off.

If the ignition is ON (+15 or +54), the floor lighting stays on until all the doors are closed.

+30 current is fed to DICE for the floor lighting. When the control module receives status information via the bus, it detects the information and turns on or off the floor lighting. I.e. +30 current is supplied or not supplied, as the case may be, to the floor lighting from pin 70 on the control module.

Diagnosis

The output is provided with overload protection which shuts it off in the event of an excessive load. When this occurs, diagnostic trouble code B1240 will be generated.

DTCs are not generated if the voltage is below 11 V, or during diagnostic communication, or in case of interruption.
