Front fog lights
Front fog lights |
The front fog light can only be switched on when the fog-light switch on the light switch is in position 1 or position 2 and if the ignition is in position ON (+15 or +54).
The front fog light is adapted for individual markets and therefore has three different programming alternatives with different functions. Each alternative also has a corresponding alternative with the headlamps.
The programming alternatives for fog lights (ON/OFF) depend on a number of parameters which give three alternatives. A dash in the table indicates that the lighting logic is independent of the value of the relevant parameter.

To enable DICE to determine what position (0-1-2) the light switch (10) is set to, the control module uses information from TWICE and its own pin connection.
TWICE, which operates the parking lights, puts information onto the bus (ON/OFF). The ON message corresponds to switch position 1. The OFF message corresponds to position 1 or 2.
DICE pin 49 is connected to light switch pin 5, which corresponds to position 0. DICE pin 15 is connected to light switch pin 11, which corresponds to position 2.
The fog light switch receives current (+54) on pin 5. When the switch is pressed in, it closes between pins 5 and 7 and current is fed to pin 62 of DICE. Depending on the fog light program alternative, the main light program alternative and the position of the dipswitch, DICE grounds pin 29 and the fog light relay operates. +30 voltage is then fed from fuse 5 to the fog lights, which go on.
The switch indicator lamp for the front fog lights is powered when inactive from pin 49 of the control module and lights up dimly. It comes full on when the button is depressed.
Diagnosis |
Diagnostic trouble code B1150 is generated in the event of an open circuit or a short circuit to ground or a short circuit to B+.
DTCs are not generated if the voltage is below 11 V or during diagnostic communication.
