Adjusting the fuel gauge/sensor

Adjusting the fuel gauge/sensor
|
There are two different ways of adjusting the sensor/gauge, depending on the fault symptoms: whether the reading error is "equally large" from full tank to empty tank or whether the reading error occurs only at a certain level. Adjustment of the fuel level sensor offset or, alternatively, the fuel gauge reading, is possible.
Alternative 1. Gauge reading error across the whole scale.

6.
|
Activate the fuel gauge and check that the gauge reading is correct at all the "breakpoints". Adjust the breakpoints if necessary. For factory-set breakpoints see
