Night Panel
Night Panel |
The SID incorporates a NIGHT PANEL function which turns off the instrument and display lighting when activated.
When the NIGHT PANEL button on the SID is pressed in, the SID unit sends bus information "NIGHT PANEL ON".
The main instrument unit then switches off the instrument and display lighting.
The tachometer, fuel gauge and temperature gauge needles go to their zero positions when the lighting has been turned off.
Only the speedometer (up to 140 km/h (90 mph)), indicator lamps and warning lamps stay on.
The following gauges/displays return to their normal state under the following circumstances:
• |
The speedometer higher speed range if the vehicle speed exceeds 138 km/h (89 mph).
|
• |
The tachometer if engine speed exceeds 5500 rpm.
|
• |
The fuel gauge and temperature gauge if the fuel level in the tank is below 15 litres.
|
• |
The fuel gauge and temperature gauge if engine temperature exceeds 120°C (248°F).
|
• |
The selector lever display lights up if the selector lever is NOT in position D.
|
If the NIGHT PANEL button is pressed a second time, the SID unit sends out a "NIGHT PANEL OFF" signal on the bus. Acting on this information, the main instrument unit first resets all the gauges to normal display and then turns on the lighting.
