Outside temperature sensor
Outside temperature sensor |
General |
The outside temperature sensor mounted in the centre of the lower spoiler gives the SID unit information on the current outside temperature. The sensor is an NTC resistor.
The SID unit measures the outside temperature by applying +5 V to the sensor through a resistor (10 kohm) in the control module via pin 20. The sensor is grounded via pin 7.
The voltage across the integral resistor in the SID unit is proportional to the outside air temperature. The SID unit uses the outdoor temperature for the trip computer function and the reading is sent as bus information OUTSIDE TEMP, unit °C
Diagnostics |
If there is a break/short to ground in the circuit to the outside temperature sensor, diagnostic trouble code B1746 will be generated.
If there is a short circuit to B+, fuse 8 will blow.
