Glass breakage sensor
Glass breakage sensor |
General |
The glass breakage sensor detects sound (microphone type) and detects whether a car window has been broken. It is integrated into the rear roof light and connected to the following pins of the TWICE control module:
Voltage +12V
pin no. 10
Ground
pin no. 57
Signal
pin no. 58
Function |
When the anti-theft alarm is armed, the glass breakage sensor is activated when it receives a power supply of +12V from the control module to pin 2.
If a window is broken, the sensor detects the sound, processes the information and decides whether or not to trip the alarm. If the alarm is to be tripped, pin 58 is grounded on the TWICE control module via pin 1 on the sensor.
When the key is removed from the ignition, the glass breakage sensor can be disconnected manually using the NIGHT PANEL button on the SID unit. The disconnection information is sent out on the bus and is read by TWICE so that the sensor can be disconnected.
