If the car is equipped with a radio other than a genuine Saab radio, check that the customer has the radio code before commencing work. |

Disconnect the negative battery cable. |

Remove
the boot lid trim
.

2. |
Remove
the luggage compartment sill protection
.
|
3. |
Detach the LH rear edge of the luggage compartment trim and carefully fold it out.
|
4. |
Unplug the wiring harness connector from the car wiring harness.
|
5. |
Detach the grommet from the car and thread the harness out through the rear wing.
|
6. |
Detach the wiring harness from the boot lid hinge.
|
7. |
Detach the grommet from the boot lid, use
82 93 474 removal tool
and prise out carefully.

8. |
Carefully mark all connectors
before disconnecting them from their components.
|
9. |
Undo the wiring harness from the boot lid and carefully thread it out through the hole.

To fit |
1. |
Thread the wiring harness into the boot lid and push the grommet into place.
|
2. |
Lay out the new wiring harness the same as the old one and secure it in the same way. Make sure all grommets seal tightly.

3. |
Plug in the connectors to their respective components. If in doubt refer to wiring diagrams/component lists for the respective system.

4. |
Thread the wiring harness through the rear wing and fit the grommet.
|
5. |
Attach the wiring harness to the boot lid hinge.
|
6. |
Plug in the connector to the car wiring harness and fasten with a cable tie.
|
7. |
Fit the luggage compartment trim.
|
8. |
Fit
the luggage compartment sill protection
.
|
9. |
Fit
the boot lid trim
.
|
10. |
Connect the negative battery cable. Set the clock and program the radio code where applicable.

Important | ||
Secure the wiring harness to prevent the risk of chafing and rattling. |
||
Check all rubber seals to minimize the risk of leakage. |

Note | ||
Spray all the connectors with “Kontakt 61” to prevent verdigris formation. Clean all the grounding points and coat them with Vaseline. |
